In the time lapse between writing this description and giving this talk, AI systems will likely have grown even more capable. With this comes a natural temptation to push toward as much automation as possible, whether for our own productivity or in the products we build. But what exactly is human judgment? How does it manifest itself in AI products? And what is the difference between good and bad human judgment? Jonathan will explore these questions by drawing from my experience building Machine Learning and AI products across several industries, including his current work at Google DeepMind: integrating Gemini to transform Google Search, building Live Avatars, creating AI-native feeds, and developing AI co-scientists.

Jonathan Evens is an AI Product Leader with a decade of experience building disruptive products in technical domains such as the smart grid, earth observation and satellite imagery, search and answer engines, nuclear fusion, cloud and music platforms. He currently works at Google DeepMind, focusing on transforming Google Search and Google App with Gemini. He is also the Chairman of the Evens Foundation, a third-generation family Foundation dedicated to making European democracy more resilient.
