People rarely read digital content from beginning to end. They scan and search for the fastest route to the answer they need. This talk explores what eye-tracking research and real product examples can teach us about writing for that behavior. We’ll look at why even clear copy gets ignored, how poorly timed guidance can interrupt the user’s actual goal, and why simply making text shorter is NOT enough.

Through practical before-and-after examples, Rita will show how UX writers create content that works within a few seconds: front-loading the message, building useful visual hierarchy, replacing product language with familiar words, and introducing information only when it becomes relevant. The goal is not to make people read everything. It is to help them notice, understand, and act on the right information at the right moment.
